Rights to Girl A have been sold in 27 territories, with Sony Pictures Entertainment adapting for TV, directed by Johan Renck (“Chernobyl”). The book has received advance praise from authors including Paula Hawkins, Jessie Burton, Chris Whitaker, Louise O’Neill and Sophie Hannah.
Its synopsis explains: “When Lex Gracie’s mother dies in prison and leaves Lex and her siblings the family home, she can’t run from her past any longer. Together with her sister, Evie, Lex intends to turn the House of Horrors into a force for good. But first she must come to terms with her six siblings – and with the childhood they shared. Beautifully written and incredibly powerful, Girl A is a story of redemption, of horror, and of love.”
Dean said: “I couldn’t be happier that Holliday will be Girl A’s audiobook narrator. I love her work, from ‘Animals’ to ‘My Cousin Rachel’, and I know that she’ll truly bring Lex and the Gracie family to life.”
