Radio Times: When is Strike: Lethal White’s release date?

We finally have a date for Lethal White release!! The 4th book finally hits our TV with the first two episodes airing on August 30th and 31. The following 2 episodes will air on the following weekend September 6th and 7th, for a total of 4 episodes.

Tom Burke (and Holliday Grainger!!) will return as the private detective Cormoran Strike in a new BBC One four-part thriller.

Private investigator Cormoran Strike is returning to television sooner than you might think, as the BBC recently revealed a premiere date for the next series.

Based on the bestselling novels by JK Rowling, published under her alternate pseudonym Robert Galbraith, the series stars Tom Burke in the title role.

Opposite him, Holliday Grainger plays professional partner Robin Ellacott, who joins him on complex criminal cases that the police have been unable to crack. We’ll also learn more about Robin and Cormoran’s will-they-won’t-they relationship, which Burke has described as the “heart of the show”.

The fourth series, subtitled Lethal White, will continue on from past outings The Cuckoo’s Calling, The Silkworm and Career of Evil, when it premieres later this month.

Here’s everything you need to know about Strike: Lethal White.

The Capture lands in USA thanks to NBC Peacock

NBC Peacock, the 370th streaming service to debut in the past 12 months, will publicly launch on July 15 after an Xfinity-exclusive soft launch earlier this year. That means it’s time to review the service’s exclusive series—though in the case of The Capture, one of Peacock’s most captivating launch options, that “exclusivity” is regional.

Unlike Peacock offerings like Brave New World and Intelligence, The Capture is an import for American viewers, having already aired on the online-only BBC Three in autumn 2019. But it’s still decidedly current: a mystery thriller that revolves around deep-fake technology and government distrust.
Whether a single series as good as The Capture makes Peacock worth subscribing to is another question. And to that point, lovers of British TV must contend with yet another streamer to add to the ever-growing list. (Peacock also will have all the seasons of Downton Abbey seasons as well as its 2019 film when it launches on July 15.)

BBC One’s hit thriller The Capture to return for a second series

BBC One, Heyday Television and NBCUniversal International Studios’ surveillance thriller The Capture will return for a second series.

The first series was a huge hit for BBC One, growing its audience across the series, and was BBC iPlayer’s biggest new title of 2019. It has had over 22 million requests on the platform to date.

Holliday Grainger will return as Rachel Carey for the second series, set to follow series one’s shock ending that saw Carey seemingly join forces with the shadowy correction team she had previously sought to expose. The Bafta Award-winning Ben Chanan – who created, wrote and directed all six episodes of series one – will also return to helm series two. Further details and casting will be announced in due course.

Holliday Grainger says: “I’m excited to be joining Ben Chanan and the team for series two of The Capture. Ben’s meticulously researched world challenges the boundary between possible and probable dark truths and constantly keeps you guessing. I can’t wait to explore what he has in store for Rachel Carey next.”

Ben Chanan says: “I am thrilled to be joining forces with the BBC, Heyday and NBCUniversal International Studios again. The Capture series two will see Rachel Carey fall deeper into the dizzying world of fakery and disinformation. She has only just scratched the surface of this conspiracy.”

Series two of The Capture (6×60′) was commissioned by Piers Wenger, Controller of BBC Drama, and Charlotte Moore, Director of BBC Content. It will be produced by Heyday Television and NBCUniversal International Studios, which is part of NBCUniversal Content Studios, for BBC One.

Series two will be written and directed by Ben Chanan. Executive Producers are David Heyman, Rosie Alison and Tom Winchester for Heyday Television, Tom Coan for NBCUniversal International Studios, Ben Irving for BBC One and Ben Chanan. The Producer is Kristian Dench. The series will be distributed by NBCUniversal Global Distribution.

Season 1 is set to premiere in the United States this July. In the UK, all six episodes of series one are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
