Holliday has been added as part of the line-up for Plataform Presents: Poetry Gala 2020!

Stars of the stage and screen read the world’s best loved poems.

Driven by their ethos to nurture and support new talent, Platform Presents is hosting their fourth annual Poetry Gala on Sunday 9th February 2020 at the Savoy Theatre. Platform Presents founded the now annual Poetry Gala, to celebrate and highlight great writing through the inspiring medium of poetry, brought to life by stars of the stage and screen. Each year Gala Gordon and Isabella Macpherson curate a selection of poems, traditional and contemporary, and approach actors and poets to perform them on a London stage for one night only to raise funds for writers.

The Poetry Gala will raise funds for the Platform Presents Playwright’s Prize, now in its second year.

Acclaimed ‘Animals’ Home Release Details Revealed

The acclaimed Animals has received a DVD, Digital and Blu-ray release date. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Emma Jane Unsworth and will head to the home formats on 6th January.

The Capture season 2: Creator drops huge hint over future of BBC thriller

2020 will be a blast! The Capture was renewed for a brand new season, and there’s already hints on the fate of the characters! See below:

THE CAPTURE came to a nail-biting close earlier in the week as the fate of Shaun Emery was finally revealed and now series writer Ben Chanan has hinted at a huge shake up if a second series was commissioned.

Shaun Emery’s (played by Callum Turner) story came to a dramatic conclusion in the series finale of The Capture earlier this week. After being blackmailed by both American and British intelligence operatives, Shaun took the blame for Hannah Roberts’ (Laura Haddock) death.

Now, show writer Ben Chanan has hinted this could be the end for Shaun even if the series is commissioned for a second series.

The Capture writer has admitted he believes the solider wouldn’t return in future episodes.

When asked about a second season, Ben teased: “I mean, never say never.

“I don’t know yet,” he added, before saying ahead of transmission: “We’ll see how we feel at the end of it.”

So, if there is another plot line transpiring from the concluding chapter or an interest from viewers for another season, will Ben delve into the world of miscommunication once more?

Historically, drama’s both in the realm of television and film don’t tend to get sequels or follow-ups unless there is an idea better than the original to be explored.

Holliday Grainger is having a massive moment right now in BBC show The Capture. But the actor has impressed us in everything from period dramas to fairytale retellings. Here are six of her best roles…

Holliday Grainger is currently confusing the whole nation in her new BBC surveillance thriller, The Capture. She plays the ambitious and curious DI Rachel Carey, who’s trying to solve a kidnapping case in a world of false news and fake evidence. If you haven’t even watched the first episod e yet, you should probably catch up (no pressure).

The show’s success has got the internet asking: who is Holliday Grainger? And what TV shows and films has Grainger been in before?

We’re predicting big things for the Manchester-born actor, especially after her refreshingly raw performance in this year’s indie hit film Animals. So we decided to take a look back at all the shows and films that she’s absolutely nailed her roles in.

Great Expectations 2012

Like many before her, Grainger’s breakthrough role was thanks to an adaptation of a Charles Dickens’ book. Starring alongside Helena Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes, she played Estella in Great Expectations, which she has described as being her perfect role.

“In the novel you never see it from Estella’s point of view, throughout it’s like you’re watching her. And so it’s only really at the end that you figure out exactly why she’s become who she is,” she told the Irish Independent.

“It’s such a complex history of emotional damage really, and that kind of fascinates me. It’s such a deep level of hurt and anger and how she’s managed to restrain that and still maintain that kind of composure, I’ve always found her fascinating.”

Cinderella 2012

Grainger’s next big film role came in 2015’s Cinderella as one of the step sisters, Anastasia, alongside actors Cate Blanchett and Lily James.

“I’ve had a lot of fun in my posh period bitchy corsets,” she told What’s On TV, talking about the role. “I enjoy playing the slightly haughty, flirty bitches. It’s an outlet for something I don’t like to be in real life.”

‘Twisting My Melon’: Jack O’Connell, Jason Isaacs, Holliday Grainger & Maxine Peake

AGC Studios is launching sales on and co-producing Twisting My Melon, a music biopic of Shaun Ryder, frontman for UK band the Happy Mondays.

Jack O’Connell (Unbroken), and Jason Isaacs (Hotel Mumbai) are in advanced negotiations to star as Ryder and his father, Derek Ryder, respectively. Also in discussions to join are Holliday Grainger (Patrick Melrose) as Ryder’s girlfriend and Maxine Peake (The Theory of Everything) as his long-suffering mum.
