Henrietta & Eleanor: A Retelling of Jekyll and Hyde

Last year, Holly was part of Henrietta & Eleanor: A Retelling of Jekyll and Hyde audible original drama. Find a small synopsis and a CD cover over our gallery.

First published to critical acclaim in 1886, Robert Louis Stevenson’s mesmerising thriller is a terrifying study of the duality of man’s nature, and it is the book which established Stevenson’s reputation as a writer.

In this Audible Original drama Stevenson’s story is transported to modern-day London, and instead we meet Henrietta Jekyll and Eleanor Hyde.

Dr Jekyll, a charming doctor, explores the possibility of dividing the dark and light side of her personality, but in doing this she creates a monster, Eleanor Hyde. For many years she manages to live under the radar, keeping her dark secret unknown to those around her. However, gradually her evil side gains strength until Dr Jekyll is overwhelmed by Eleanor Hyde, to disastrous consequences. An exploration of human duality and forces of good and evil, this modern retelling is compelling and eerie and retains the disturbing nature of the original text.

Starring Holliday Grainger (CinderellaMy Cousin RachelStrike) and Carla Mendonça (My Parents Are AliensSo Awkward).

Also starring Tim Bentinck, Bill Fellows, Hugh Fraser, Holliday Grainger, Clive Mantle, Carla Mendonca, Katarina Olsson, Miranda Raison and Hugh Ross

J.K. Rowling’s Cormoran Strike Returns to TV in ‘Lethal White’

As previously announced on J.K. Rowling/ Robert Gailbraith twitters, a new novel from the Strike series was released. To celebrate the good news, Rowling herself has announced via twitter that Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger will reprise their roles as Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott. The book will be separated into 4 episodes/ parts, and will air on BBC once again.

Strike’s back. Tom Burke will return as private eye Cormoran Strike and Holliday Graingeras Robin Ellacott in “Lethal White,” the latest TV adaptation of the crime thriller novel series written by J.K. Rowling under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.

The “Lethal White” book has just been published in the U.K.; the television series will run to four parts on the BBC, which aired the previous three adaptations. Those ran on Cinemax and HBO in North America, but the U.S. partner for the new show has not been named.

What is confirmed is that “Lethal White” will feature a number of returning characters from the previous books and series, alongside several new faces.

The new story opens when a troubled young man, Billy, comes to Strike’s office to ask for help investigating a crime he thinks he witnessed as a child. Billy is mentally distressed and cannot remember many details, but for Strike there is something sincere about him and his story.

“Lethal White” follows “Strike – The Cuckoo’s Calling,” “Strike – The Silkworm,” and “Strike – Career of Evil,” all of which went out on flagship channel BBC One in the U.K.

J.K. Rowling, once more in the guise of Robert Galbraith, has delivered another brilliant, knotty and original crime story,” said BBC drama boss Piers Wenger. “We are honored to be working with Jo, and once more with Holliday and Tom as Robin and Strike, to bring this hit series back to BBC One.”

Rowling’s Brontë Film and TV is producing. The international distributor has not been confirmed. “Lethal White” has just been published in the U.K. by Little, Brown and is already a No. 1 bestseller.
